Successful Conclusion of Six Unit Dosage Reported

Addressing a conference of the American College of Surgeons, held in New Orleans, Louisiana, October 22-27, 1995, Northfield Laboratories Inc., Evanston, Illinois, presented results of its research from clinical studies demonstrating the potential therapeutic benefit of PolyHeme, the company's blood substitute product at a dosage level equivalent to six units of blood.

Gould, Northfield's president, detailed the results of their latest trials which infused 300 grams or six pints of PolyHeme instead of red blood cells following trauma and emergency surgery in eight patients ranging in age from 19-83 years.
