PCR cannot be used in analyzing final plasma products for their safety in terms of hepatitis virus, if the products were manufactured by a process that includes virus inactivating methods, Dr. Joachim Hilfenhaus, Head of Virology, Research Laboratories of Behringwerke AG, Marburg, Germany stated.
