According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the conference entitled Interleukin 12: Cellular and Molecular Immunology of an Important Regulatory Cytokine, held November 9-12, 1995, in New York, New York, "The combination of its ability to induce potent antitumor activity and to promote hematopoiesis suggests potential application of IL-12 as an adjunct to stimulate a graft-versus-leukemia reaction after autologous bone marrow transplantation.
