Green Cross Corp. had reported halting shipments in early 1986 and completing the recovery of unheated blood products by May 1986, but the recovery actually was not finished until a year later, Health and Welfare Minister Naoto Kan added. Kan spoke at a news conference and reported on an investigation against Green Cross as part of a study of some 2,000 Japanese infected with HIV through tainted blood.
