Therapeutic Plasma Exchange is the replacement of a patient's plasma with either fresh frozen plasma or albumin. This medical procedure is prescribed for an increasing number of indications, including autoimmune diseases such as Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP), Myasthenia Gravis and Guillian-Barre. The typical patient receives multiple treatments over weeks or months and, in some cases, years.
