According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 32nd Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, held May 18-21, 1996, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, "This study was aimed at the large-scale procurement of functional DCs in a sufficiently practical manner for therapeutic purposes In this perspective, we report that BCTs (n=11) collected by single leukapheresis at the time of CD34+ cell mobilization into peripheral blood after 7 g/m2 CTX chemotherapy plus cytokines, comprise 140-fold more CD34+ progenitors of DCs than a control steady-state BCT.
