"Ethical Aspects of the Use of Cytokines and Growth Factors in Donors."

According to an abstract submitted by the author to the 21st International Symposium on Blood Transfusion, entitled Cytokines and Growth Factors in Blood Transfusion, held September 25-27, 1996, in Groningen, the Netherlands, "The use of cytokines and growth factors in normal donors seems to become more and more common. Yet it is uncertain whether this can harm the donor. In a recent publication in 'Transfusion' (July 1996) Anderlini et al. report some immediate side-effects (within 7 days after apheresis), which seem to be harmless, but are present.
