According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the Keystone Symposia on Molecular and Cellular Biology entitled Hematopoiesis, held February 10-16, 1997, in Tamarron, Colorado, "The presence of even minimal numbers of lymphoma cells in hematopoietic harvests infused into patients to restore hematopoiesis following high dose therapy is associated with a poor outcome. In low grade Lymphoma patients, removal of such cells from the harvest by antibody and complement is associated with an improved outcome (Gribben et al., NEJM 1991).
