"Paclitaxel Immediately Following Autologous Bone Marrow Transplantation Further Reduces Residual Disease in Patients with Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC)."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 88th Annual Meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research, held April 12-16, 1997, in San Diego, California, "High-dose-chemotherapy (HDCT) can achieve complete response in 50-60% of the patients with MBC, but most of them relapse and only 15-20% remain alive at 5 year interval. In the context of a genetic chemoprotection trial we administered escalating doses of paclitaxel to eradicate minimal residual disease.
