According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the Keystone Symposia on Molecular and Cellular Biology entitled AIDS Pathogenesis, sponsored by Abbott Laboratories and the Director's Sponsor Fund, held April 8-13, 1997, in Keystone, Colorado, "Factors that determine the risk for homosexual HIV-1 transmission have not been identified yet. Here, we studied 10 monogamous homosexual couples between whom transmission of HIV-1 had not occurred despite high risk sexual behavior.
