According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the First Australasian Conference on Hepatitis C, held March 16-18, 1997, in Sydney, Australia, "This paper reports on the development and trailing of the 'BBV TRAQ' with a group of 200 injecting drug users from Melbourne. Whilst a range of interventions have thus far limited the spread of HIV amongst Australian injecting drug users (IDUs), the Hepatitis C virus (HCV) and Hepatitis B virus (HBV) have become widespread within this group.
