"A Multi-Site Trial Comparing Two Commercially Available Kits for CMV Antigenemia Testing."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 14th Annual Clinical Virology Symposium and Annual Meeting of the Pan American Society for Clinical Virology, held April 26-29, 1998, in Clearwater Beach, Florida, "Objective: To compare two commercially available kits, the Biotest CMV Brite Kit and the Bartels/Argene CMV Antigenemia Kit, for detection of CMV pp65 antigenemia in peripheral blood. Methods: Sequential blood specimens received at four sites were separated into two equal portions. Each portion was processed and tested according to the manufacturer's instructions for pp65 antigenemia, and also for CMV viremia by either shell vial assay or tube culture....
