"Blood Salvage in Cancer Surgery."

According to an abstract submitted by the author to the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, held October 18-20, 1998, in Orlando, Florida, "Blood salvage is contraindicated in cancer surgery because of the risk of tumor cell dissemination and the recent demonstration of viable, invasive and tumorigenic tumor cells in the blood shed during cancer surgery.
