Kinetic Model of Circulatory Regulation of t-PA Reported

Anhepatic fibrinolytic activity in liver transplantation was a function of both operative blood loss and the preoperative fibrinolytic state, researchers reported.

Tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA) is cleared almost exclusively by the liver (t##1/2##=2-4 min.). During the anhepatic stage of liver transplantation, hepatic clearance is eliminated and t-PA levels should rise rapidly; however, this does not always take place, noted K.P.
