The PCR test system was developed by Centeon Pharma GmbH to analyze plasma for fractionation for the presence of hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis C virus (HCV), and HIV-1 nucleic acids.
The system consists of a pooling strategy, a PCR test, and a software solution to trace samples through the process, indicated Thomas Weimer, Centeon Pharma GmbH, Marburg, Germany, at the Blood Safety-Europe Conference held November 16-17, 1998, in Lisbon, Portugal.
