"Alterations of Visual Search Strategies in Alzheimer's Disease."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 51st Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Neurology, held April 17-24, 1999, in Toronto, Canada, "Objective: To investigate visual search strategies in a target detection task in patients with probable Alzheimer's disease (AD). Background: The primary clinical symptom of AD is amnesia, reflecting the early affinity of the pathology for the limbic areas. Another early physiological marker of AD is a reduction of metabolic activity in the parietal areas.
