The researchers examined the effects of oxidative stress upon the process of restenosis through the creation of a genetically engineered vessel segment that overexpresses human copper/zinc superoxide dismutase. Results from their study were presented at the 85th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America, held November 28-December 3, 1999, in Chicago, Illinois.
