Addition of Fetal Hemoglobin Affects MR Intensities

Fresh blood that contains fetal hemoglobin may have different magnetic resonance (MR) intensities than blood without fetal hemoglobin, according to a report from Austria.

D.M. Prayer and colleagues performed a study to investigate the MR-appearance of blood containing fetal hemoglobin (FHb) in vitro.

Prayer et al. reported their study, titled "In vitro MR imaging of blood containing fetal hemoglobin," at the Radiological Society of North America's 85th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois.
