Sodium Chloride Solution Method Doubles White Cell Yield

A cord blood collection method using sodium chloride solution yielded more white cells than the standard collection method, according to researchers in Israel.

U. Elchalal and colleagues compared three methods of collection of human umbilical cord blood ("Postpartum umbilical cord blood collection for transplantation: A comparison of three methods," American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 2000;182(1 Part 1):227-232).
