Direct Graft Puncture Effective for Mediating Thrombolysis

Direct graft puncture is an effective method for allowing catheters access to bypass grafts in order to mediate thrombolysis, according to researchers writing in the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology.

D.E. Lee and colleagues at the University of Rochester examined "the efficacy and safety of direct graft puncture of peripheral arterial bypass grafts with placement of retrograde and antegrade catheters within the graft for thrombolytic therapy" ("Direct graft puncture with use of a crossed catheter technique for thrombolysis of peripheral bypass grafts," J Vasc Interven Radiol, 2000;11(4):445-452).
