Nitric Oxide Levels of Varying Utility in Measuring Crisis Severity

While nitric oxide (NO) measurements can be valuable at the onset of sickle cell crisis, they are subsequently of limited utility, researchers writing in the American Journal of Hematology report.

"This prospective study was designed to examine the relationship between serial serum nitric oxide (NO) levels and pain during the emergency department (ED) treatment of acute vasoocclusive sickle cell crisis (SCC)," explained B.L.
