by Michael Greer, senior medical writer - Two techniques for measuring styrene levels in blood samples are accurate and sensitive enough for use with workers exposed to this environmental hazard, researchers in the United States report.

S.M. Rappaport and colleagues at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, conducted a study to compare methods of "isotope-dilution gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) ... for the determination of styrene and styrene-7,8-oxide (SO) in blood."
