Microvolume Laser Scanning Effective For Whole Blood Platelet Analysis

by Michael Greer, senior medical writer - Researchers in the United States say that microvolume laser scanning cytometry (MLSC) is an effective technique for studying platelets in whole blood samples.

"Enumerating and phenotyping of platelets, resting and activated, from whole blood is important for both the identification and verification of many disease states," according to Tim L. Wyant and colleagues at SurroMed, Inc., a biotechnology firm in Mountain View, California.
