Three-Drug Combination Provides Comprehensive Coagulation Inhibition

by Michael Greer, senior medical writer - Combining platelet-inhibiting drugs with different functional mechanisms may provide superior protection against thrombosis and other disorders, researchers in England argue.

"Antiplatelet drugs have been demonstrated to reduce the incidence of recurrent events in patients with symptomatic vascular disease," according to Lian Zhou and colleagues at the University of Nottingham's Centre for Vascular Research. "However, there is no experimental data indicating the effects of these agents when given together on platelets and leukocytes."
