Consultation Should Improved Arrangements For Tissue Harvesting

The United Kingdom Department of Health consulted on new arrangements intended to improve practice in discussing with families postmortems and the retention and use of human organs and tissue.

These discussions are part of a framework the Government is aiming to put in place pending changes in the law on human organs and tissue.

Following recommendations from the Chief Medical Officer last year (2001), the Department of Health, in association with stakeholders, is inviting comments on the following documents:
