RISE puts West Nile health and safety information online

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control have issued warnings that the West Nile virus will continue to spread west, saying there is no reason to believe the virus would not continue to expand its geographic range within the United States.

Mosquitoes spread West Nile virus to birds and then from infected birds to other mosquitoes and humans.

Infected humans can develop symptoms including deadly encephalitis, or swelling of the brain.
