Company prepares for phase III prehospital trial with PolyHeme

Northfield Laboratories, Inc., (NFLD) announced the initiation of the public disclosure and community consultation process required by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in preparation for the start of its pivotal phase III prehospital trial with PolyHeme.

PolyHeme is the company's universally compatible oxygen-carrying blood substitute intended for use in the treatment of hemorrhagic shock resulting from extensive blood loss.
