"Rituximab is used for in vivo tumor cell purging for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) patients prior to autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (PBSCT)," explained M. Benekli and colleagues at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo.
Treatment with rituximab was associated with low PBSC yields and delayed engraftment, although its antitumor efficacy resulted in longer overall survival, Benekli and coauthors found.
