Foundation comments on studies of high-dose chemo with stem-cell rescue

Data from two clinical trials published in the July 3, 2003, issue of the New England Journal of Medicine explore potential benefits of high-dose chemotherapy with stem cell rescue in the treatment of high-risk breast cancer.

Study results showed no increase in overall survival but a possible reduction in the rate of relapse, particularly among certain subgroups of patients.
