Erythroid Colony Formation

Thioredoxin, which protects marrow from peroxide, is deactivated by IFNgamma

Anemic conditions appear to correlate with oxidative stress; peroxide does inhibit blood derived erythroid colony formation, but bone marrow colony formation is protected by thioredoxin; however, it is in turn deactivated by IFNgamma.
