Liver Failure

Positive preclinical data reported on blood purification device

Arbios Systems, Inc., (ABOS), a biomedical device company engaged in the development of proprietary liver assist technologies useful in the treatment of acute liver failure, announced the results of two preclinical studies using its proprietary SEPET device.

The SEPET device is a single-use hollow-fiber cartridge designed to provide extracorporeal blood purification therapy for patients with acute liver failure. SEPET is designed to work with standard kidney dialysis machines for removal of the plasma fraction in blood containing toxins of hepatic failure.
