HemoSense inks distribution agreement for point-of-care coagulation diagnostics

HemoSense, Inc., announced that it has signed an exclusive agreement with Medline Industries, Inc., to distribute HemoSense's INRatio Prothrombin Time (PT) Monitoring System, a point-of-care blood coagulation testing device.

Under the 3-year agreement, Medline will distribute the INRatio to alternate care, home healthcare, and nursing home care facilities in the United States.

The portable INRatio monitors PT for appropriate anticoagulation therapy patients who are taking Coumadin, a blood-thinning drug. Anticoagulation patients typically have venous blood drawn and sent to a lab for analysis, which can take days and complicate the management of...
