"The mechanism that regulates the plasticity of bone marrow cells (BMCs) into hepatocytes is poorly understood," scientists in Japan explained.
To help rectify this, K. Omori and colleagues at Yamaguchi University "developed a green fluorescent protein/carbon tetrachloride model" to determine if "BMC transplantation recovered liver damage."
