Transmetatarsal amputation healing in diabetic patients cannot be predicted by angiographic findings. According to recent research published in the journal Annals of Vascular Surgery, "Transmetatarsal amputation (TMA) is a durable reconstruction in the diabetic patient with limited forefoot gangrene.
