Plasma fibrinogen level identified asrisk factor for mortality in patients with PAD

Plasma fibrinogen level is identified as an independent risk factor for mortality in Chinese patients with peripheral artery disease.

According to a study from People's Republic of China, "Fibrinogen, an inflammatory marker as well as a fundamental part of the coagulation cascade, is suggested to play a significant role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and complications of atherothrombotic diseases. The aim of this study was to determine if plasma fibrinogen is an independent risk factor for long-term survival in patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD)."
