Risk factors for hepatitis C infection are increased among adolescents in detention

In a recently published article, scientists in the United States conducted a study that reported that risk factors for hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection are increased among adolescents in detention. R.M. Bair and colleagues, Indiana University, wrote that the study was designed "to assess the prevalence and correlates of HCV infection in a sample of detained adolescents, a cross-sectional prevalence study with 10- to 18-year-old adolescents who were consecutively admitted to a juvenile detention center in San Antonio, Texas."
