Researchers in Spain conducted a study "to analyze the simultaneous combination of ATRA and anthracycline monochemotherapy for children with APL. Since November 1996, 66 children (younger than 18 years) with genetically proven APL received induction therapy with ATRA and idarubicin. Consolidation therapy consisted of three courses of anthracycline monochemotherapy."
