Recent findings in leukemia provide new insights

Leukemia research advances have been reported from the United States and Austria.

Study 1: Scientists discussed the prognostic significance of RUNX1 gene rearrangements in Mexican patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

According to a study from Mexico, "The t(12;21) produces the gene fusion ETV6/RUNX1 and is a frequent rearrangement in childhood ALL associated with a good prognosis. In Mexico its prevalence has not been reported."
