Research in angiology provides new insights

Reports from the United States highlight recent research on angiology.

Study 1: According to recently published research from the United States, vanilloid transient receptor potential (TRPV) 4 forms a novel Ca2+ signaling complex with ryanodine receptors and BKCa channels.

"Vasodilatory factors produced by the endothelium are critical for the maintenance of normal blood pressure and flow. We hypothesized that endothelial signals are transduced to underlying vascular smooth muscle by TRPV channels," wrote S. Earley and colleagues, University of Vermont.
