Researchers in Germany report, "The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) represents a subcellular target reactive to various cytosolic impairments. The involvement of ER-stress in organ preservation was investigated, comparing machine preservation, cold storage (CS) and a novel concept of only temporary perfusion after procurement."
