Cardiac surgery blood filters for leukocyte and fat removal compared

Testing of three cardiac surgery blood filters demonstrated that the leukocyte removal filters were superior to the fat removal filter.

According to recent research from the Netherlands, "Activated leukocytes and fat particles are associated with organ injury after a cardiac surgery.
