Pediatric patients with solid tumors studied for maximum tolerated dose of irofulven

Scientists determined the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of MGI 114 (irofulven) in pediatric patients with solid tumors.

"We performed a Phase I trial of irofulven to determine the MTD, the dose-limiting toxicity (DLT), and the plasma pharmacokinetics of irofulven in children {{<=}}21 years of age with refractory/recurrent malignancies. Thirty-five patients were entered into the study, of whom 34 were eligible," researchers in the United States reported.
