According to recent research published in the journal Shock, "Our objective was to investigate the plasma levels of BNP and atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) in patients with septic shock/severe sepsis and to study the association of BNP and ANP levels with hemodynamic parameters, severity of the disease, and prognosis of those patients.
