Chronic hepatitis C virus may involve hepatic progenitor cells

Recent research from Greece has reported on a potential role of hepatic progenitor cell (HPC) expression in cases of chronic hepatitis C (HCV) and their relation to response to therapy. "This study investigates the correlation of HPC expression with treatment response in patients with chronic hepatitis C. The study comprised 77 liver biopsies with chronic HCV," wrote A.C.
