Azidothymidine in adult T cell leukemia/lymphoma patients results in tumor cell death

Azidothymidine (AZT) treatment of T-cell leukemia virus I-infected cells in adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL) patients results in tumor cell death. According to recent research published in the journal Blood, "The antiviral thymidine analog AZT is used to treat several virus-associated human cancers.
