Senator Mel Martinez Recognizes CORD:USE Cord Blood Bank's Cord Blood Donation Program at Winnie Palmer Hospital on the U.S. Senate Floor

On the floor of the U.S. Senate today, Florida Senator Mel Martinez cited CORD:USE Cord Blood Bank's Program at Orlando's Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies as a successful example of a program that is already delivering on the promise of cord blood as a non-controversial source of stem cells.

CORD:USE's umbilical cord-blood program collects cord blood on a 24/7 basis from the diverse population, which delivers over 13,000 babies per year at Winnie Palmer Hospital. These are stem cells that would have otherwise been discarded as medical waste.
