Indiana University, Immunology and The Walther Oncology Center reports research in hematopoiesis immunology

Fresh data on hematopoiesis are presented in the report "A role for natural killer T cells and CD1d molecules in counteracting suppression of hematopoiesis in mice induced by infection with murine cytomegalovirus. Infection of immunocompromised patients with cytomegalovirus (CMV), such as that occurring in patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, is a serious clinical problem. CMV infection has been reported to suppress hematopoiesis," scientists in the United States report.
