Research from Queen's University, Center for Cancer Research and Cell Biology provide new insights into erythropoiesis therapy

Scientists discuss in 'Pathophysiology of anemia and erythrocytosis' new findings in erythropoiesis. According to recent research published in the journal Critical Reviews In Oncology, "An increasing understanding of the process of erythropoiesis raises some interesting questions about the pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment of anemia and erythrocytosis. The mechanisms underlying the development of many of the erythrocytoses, previously characterised as idiopathic, have been elucidated leading to an increased understanding of oxygen homeostasis."
