Research conducted at University of Florida, College of Medicine has provided new information about bacteremia therapy

Fresh data on bacteremia are presented in the report 'Hemodialysis vascular catheter-related bacteremia.' According to recent research from the United States, "Bacteremia in hemodialysis patients with cuffed tunneled catheters is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality. Native arteriovenous fistulas or vascular prostheses are preferred forms of vascular access, but their creation may not always be possible."
