Research findings, 'Endothelial cell apoptosis in chronically obstructed and reperfused pulmonary artery,' are discussed in a new report. According to recent research from Le Plessis-Robinson, France, "Endothelial dysfunction is a major complication of pulmonary endarterectomy (PTE) that can lead to pulmonary edema and persistent pulmonary hypertension. We hypothesized that endothelial dysfunction is related to increased endothelial-cell (EC) death."
